Grandmaster Art Beins, founder and chief instructor of Art Beins Karate, has dedicated over four decades to shaping the future of martial arts. As a highly respected leader in the industry, he holds a 10th Degree Black Belt and serves as President of the United States Black Cat Kenpo Karate Federation. His passion for martial arts has influenced generations of students, instilling in them the values of discipline, confidence, and perseverance.


Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Grandmaster Beins has been inducted into seven Halls of Fame, hosted the long-running cable TV show "Karate & You", and served as an assistant coach for TEAM USA. His training philosophy integrates Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and collegiate wrestling, ensuring a well-rounded approach to self-defense and personal growth. His vision extends beyond the dojo, as he has helped raise over $300,000 for various charities, reinforcing his belief that martial arts is not just about combat—it’s about building a better community.

His path led him to establish Art Beins Karate, a school dedicated to developing strong, confident individuals through world-class martial arts instruction. In 1980, Grandmaster Art Beins took a bold step forward in his martial arts journey by establishing Art Beins Karate in Howell, New Jersey. With a vision to create a premier martial arts academy, he combined the knowledge and experience gained through years of dedicated training in Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. His goal was not just to teach techniques but to develop strong, confident individuals through discipline, perseverance, and self-defense mastery.



What began as a single school quickly grew into a respected martial arts institution, later expanding to a second location in Freehold, New Jersey. Through exceptional instruction, community involvement, and a commitment to excellence, Art Beins Karate has impacted thousands of students, shaping them into leaders both on and off the mat. Today, Grandmaster Beins’ legacy continues to thrive, ensuring that the principles of dedication, respect, and personal growth remain at the heart of every lesson taught.

The Art Beins Karate Demo Teams represent the highest level of discipline, skill, and performance in martial arts. These teams are made up of dedicated students who train rigorously to showcase dynamic techniques, synchronized forms, and high-energy demonstrations at tournaments, community events, and special performances. Being part of the Demo Team is both an honor and a challenge, requiring students to push beyond their limits and master advanced techniques, board breaking, weapon demonstrations, and choreographed routines. Under the guidance of expert instructors, team members sharpen their precision, timing, and stage presence, creating exciting performances that inspire audiences and fellow martial artists alike. Those who join the Demo Team become ambassadors of Art Beins Karate, representing the school’s values of hard work, respect, and perseverance both on and off the mat.
